Happy Merry Christmas! It’s my most favorite time of the year for celebrations. It’s been a very long year and many of us are feeling frazzled and looking forward to the holiday season for a welcomed break. If you’re looking for fun activities, create a family bucket list of fun events to enjoy. Here are a few fun happenings to consider:

Go Ice Skating

Catherine tried ice skating for the first time this year. Big sister Christina took her to a neighboring town to “Skate the Square”.  She was brave, held on tight and ultimately had an enjoyable time. This is one activity we will try again before the holiday ends. 

Make Christmas Ornaments

This is a fun activity to get everyone around the table. It’s also a cost-effective way to make gifts for friends. Catherine made school themed ornaments and looks forward to sharing them at the school Christmas celebration.

Take in Christmas Lights

Every year we visit a festive light show in the area. Our light show is called Merry Main Street and offers a free festive approach to kick off the holiday season. I love the lights to the sounds of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We walk and/or drive as a family and invite friends. 

Have a Christmas Photo Shoot with Matching Pajamas

Christina and Catherine have always shared this tradition. A few years ago, Merle and I joined the fun. Each year we select a theme, dress up for Christmas Eve and enjoy family time together. 

Give to your Local Food Bank

This offers a teachable moment for children to demonstrate the power of giving. We looked up the needs for one of our local food banks and trucked down to the grocery store to purchase items from the list. Catherine had a great time selecting items and making the delivery. If you are short on time, there are always online options to make a monetary donation.
