As a wife and a working mom to two daughters, the youngest one with special needs, I understand how demanding, exhausting and confusing it is for a primary caregiver. I remember looking down at my tiny baby and being so happy she was finally with us, but not truly comprehending what a tough journey we faced. I felt like I’d been tossed off a ship in the middle of the night, with no life preserver, no idea where I was and no idea how to swim. I created Beyond The Waiting Room for every caregiver out there who may feel lost, adrift and in need of guidance.

As a primary caregiver, you’re the captain, standing at the helm of your ship navigating these unknown waters. Consider Beyond The Waiting Room your safe harbor, a place where you can ask questions, learn tips and gain knowledge that will help you better care for your loved one and yourself. Believe me, I’ve been where you are. Giving my daughter her medicine for the first few times was nerve-racking. I’m a Geophysicist and majored in Mathematics, but that means nothing when you’re measuring medication for someone you love. You don’t want to be wrong. But I got through it and so will you. You just have to trust yourself and believe that you can.

Hello, I’m Lillian and welcome to Beyond The Waiting Room, your primary resource for primary caregivers.

Beyond The Waiting Room is different things to different people because no one’s journey is the same. For some, we’re your lighthouse, spotlighting new resources and technology. For others, we’re your compass, pointing you in a new direction you may not have thought of. Our inspirational quotes are here to anchor you and keep you motivated. And we’ll always be here to support you and keep you afloat. For whatever reason you’re here, I’m glad you found us because despite our differences, we’re all striving for the same goal: providing the best possible care for the ones we love. I believe that I stand in a space where hundreds and thousands of primary caregivers have stood and I created this online community for all of them…and for you.
